Kitchen Fire Suppression SystemKitchen Fire Suppression Systems

Megacity Fire is an authorized installer and service agent for Ansul and Pyro-Chem kitchen fire suppression systems. Pre-engineered kitchen fire suppression systems protect the hood, duct and cooking appliances in the kitchen. When a fire starts, the detection network will automatically detect a fire and release chemical throughout the hood, and on the appliances. Also, a manual pull station can be used to release the chemical over the fire. Before the system is discharged, gas and/or electric cooking power will be stopped to the appliances. Maintenance on kitchen fire suppression systems must be conducted at least semi-annually in accordance with fire code requirements and the manufacturer’s listed installation and maintenance manual. Further, a hydrostatic pressure test on the system cylinder must be conducted at least every 12 years.

Dry Chemical Fire Suppression Systems back to top

Dry Chemical Fire Suppression SystemMegacity Fire is an authorized installer and service agent for Pyro-Chem dry chemical fire suppression systems. Dry chemical fire suppression systems protect storage rooms, furnace rooms, paint booths and areas of a building where flammable liquids or hazardous materials are stored. Dry chemical systems are typically used for "total flood” applications in non-occupied areas. Dry chemical suppresses a fire by providing both rapid suppression and protection against fire re-ignition. This type of system is an economical choice for areas where cleanup is not a major concern. Dry chemical fire suppression systems are environmentally safe, non-toxic and economical to use.

Dry chemical systems are ideal for:

  • Flammable Liquid Storage Areas
  • Furnace Rooms
  • Mechanical Rooms
  • Paint Spray Booths
  • Storage Rooms

Maintenance on dry chemical fire suppression systems must be conducted by qualified personnel at least semi-annually in accordance with fire code requirements and the manufacturer's listed installation and maintenance manual. Dry chemical containers must be given a 6-year internal inspection and 12 year hydrostatic test.
